Primarily, members of the Social Emotional Assets (Sea) Lab study the development of positive strengths and traits from early childhood through emerging adulthood.

Social Emotional Strengths in University Students
This project includes investigating positive and adaptive competencies in young adults which may benefit social, emotional, and academic functioning. This project is funded by the University of Calgary Faculty of Arts.
Currently, we have 4 waves of longitudinal data on this project with over 1,200 unique cases. Variables includes personality, relationships, academic engagement, sense of belonging, coping strategies, and social emotional skills.
Animated Movies Project
This project involves investigating the portrayal of family relationships, personality, and growth for autonomy in children’s animated featured films. Currently, we have analyzed 60 films to form a content analysis consensus, and are in the process of analyzing this report.
